Biography

​

​Giselle Madera is a Dominican Art Director and Production Designer who has participated in projects for theater and a numerous of films since 2005. For the last 10 years her work as an Art Director has been mostly in international projects for important networks like NBC, CBS, NICKELODEON, and many more. Working for TV series like Are You Afraid of the Dark?, The Resort and The Longsong for BBC1. Her experienced at the Dominican Republic is very well recommended for the knowledge of the local crew and experts vendors that add professionalism and incredible results. Also for making every project feels like a creative and safe environment to uplift the working experience in the Caribbean island for the foreign and the local crew.

 

In movies she has worked as an Art Director for Arthur the King with Mark Wahlberg, Roadhouse the remake from MGM Studios. As a Production Designer for the movie Amalgama from Carlos Cuaron shot in the beautiful area of Tulum México and many other international projects.

In local productions in the Dominican Republic, Giselle has won several prizes including Premios La Silla Best Production Design in 2021 for the movie Candela, Premios La Silla Best Production Design and Best Art Direction in 2018 for the movie Veneno Episodio 1 and Best Art Direction in 2016 for Juan Luis Guerra music video Muchachita Linda.

 

Borned  in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the year 1981. Her interest in the arts and visual expression began in her early years in school working actively in the Theater, dance and film groups and literature. At 17 she studied Advertising in college and after her graduation she decided to move to Buenos Aires, Argentina to take workshops in Art Direction, Lighting for theater and Stage Design.

Giselle Madera es una directora de arte y diseñadora de producción dominicana que ha participado en proyectos de teatro y una gran cantidad de películas desde el 2005. Durante los últimos 10 años, su trabajo como directora de arte ha sido principalmente en proyectos internacionales para importantes cadenas como NBC, CBS, NICKELODEON, y muchos más. Trabajando para series de televisión como Are You Afraid of the Dark?, The Resort y The Longsong para BBC1. Su experiencia en República Dominicana es muy recomendada por el conocimiento del crew local y proveedores expertos que suman profesionalismo y resultados increíbles. También por hacer que cada proyecto se sienta dentro de un entorno creativo y seguro para mejorar la experiencia laboral en la isla caribeña, tanto para el equipo local y como el extranjero.

Nació en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana en el año 1981. Su interés por las artes y la expresión visual comenzó en sus primeros años en la escuela trabajando activamente en los grupos de teatro, danza y cine y literatura. A los 17 años estudió Publicidad en la universidad y luego de graduarse decidió mudarse a Buenos Aires, Argentina para tomar talleres de Dirección de Arte, Iluminación para teatro y Escenografía.
